Elizabeth Locks and Dam Lockmaster, Charles Weight, provided historic information and a review of the Elizabeth Locks and Dam facility during production. The oldest locks and dam facility of the Marine Highway, the Elizabeth facility will be removed from service at the completion of the Lower Mon Project allowing one continuous pool from Braddock to Charleroi. This improvement will enable faster navigation of the Monongahela River for both recreational and commercial vessels.
